Mid-Day Market Update with Panda Bear

March 18, 2008

(BEIJING) Oh you again! The US market is acting very favorably today, the DOW up almost 280 points right now. This is due to large impending interest cuts, you can read a post from earlier today by Darth Bear, on why that is so important. HERE

Right now it is also important that China’s market goes up to. I will put the US market points below, and believe me, I want them to fall - good day for USA, bad day for China.

Shark on a bus!

March 18, 2008

Creative people never cease to amaze me, i so love creative types. Check out the “Shark on a Bus” photo below, part of a clever marketing campaign from National Geographic.

National Geographic Clever Marketing Idea

The photo is actually from a montage of photos showcasing creativity in marketing from Alex at Net Frontier Marketing. Alex does an awesome job of proving his point with a series of clever marketing ideas (each with an accompanying photo). Everything from a boring and environmentally-unfriendly plastic bag that was a giveaway at a book signing, that turned out to be anything but boring, to a series of business cards that turn the ordinary upside down.

My favorite is the “Shark on a Bus” photo, and National Geographic takes the cake with that original idea. I love it. To see all the cool photos, head on over to Alex’s blog.

Mid Morning Rally according to Stern Bears

March 18, 2008

It’s all good with Sugar Bear

March 18, 2008

(LA JOLLA, CALIFORNIA) I just picked up the coolest blue t-shirt, a little hot in La Jolla to rock it on a day like today, and with all the sweet honey around here, hot damn! I think we all know by the look on my face just how happy I am about all that fine honey around here, oh yeah… Sugar Bear!

Darth Bear in the House.

March 18, 2008

(ZAXXON) Good tidings. Darth Bear here… I have been sent to you by the emperor to command an interest rate of 1/2 percent on this part of your planet. Now as we all know the Fed cut the rate over a percent last time they got together. I am not asking for this change, I am commanding it. As Darth Bear I order to make this change immediately. A rate cut would allow investment banks to trade at a discount which would increase profits and thereby ad to a dominate empire. These are the days Darth Bear most enjoys… unemployment is on the rise, so 85,000 jobs have been lost in the last month and big money is changing hands. That means more people joining the military ranks my minions as their options are cut short. It’s good to be the king, or at least serve my master.

The Ten Legal Commandments of Photography

You’re sure you haven’t done anything wrong, but you don’t know whose side the law is on. Fret no moreslr camera

THE TEN LEGAL COMMANDMENTS OF PHOTOGRAPHY

I. Anyone in a public place can take pictures of anything they want. Public places include parks, sidewalks, malls, etc. Malls? Yeah. Even though it’s technically private property, being open to the public makes it public space.

II. If you are on public property, you can take pictures of private property. If a building, for example, is visible from the sidewalk, it’s fair game. >>>MORE

OMG: I’m so not having this weather this morning.

March 18, 2008

(CHICAGO) Oh My God, I’m so not having this weather this morning. Yesterday I was in dreamland catching fish with Grizzly bear and lo and behold I wake up to find a crowd of people looking at me through the bars of a cage. And guess which side I’m on. Not only that, it’s 46 F and raining. This is Sooo typical of Chicago this time of year, can some one throw me a frickin bone, seriously I’m starving and just came out of hibernation.
