DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO- Penned this during a quiet moment. To the tune of Hey Jude. Not great but it’s a start! And I am sure there will be many more come Monday

Bear Stearns, don’t feel too bad
Have a bank loan to make it better
Remember to pay back JP Morgan
Then you can start to make it better

Bear Stearns don’t be afraid
For the FED will come in and save you
Whenever a big bank looks to be binned
They will step in to make it better

And anytime you feel the pain, Bear Stears refrain
From buying those Triple A securities
Well don’t you know that’s it’s a fool who breaks the rule
And borrows more than they can afford to

Bear Stearns! You took write downs
But where you mark loans, you can’t sell them
Remember, to run with lower leverage
And maybe to hedge against your debtors

So take the loan and ignore the din, Bear Stearns begin
To repair your completely shattered balance sheet
And don’t you know that its not just you, but Lehmans
Too, whose shares are tumbling in the market

Bear Stearns, don’t feel too bad
Have a bank loan to make it better
Remember to pay back JP Morgan
Then you can start to make it better

Cover your ears, I got more hits a’coming!

Market update with Mother Polar Bear

March 21, 2008

NORTH POLE–Rrroooaar! Who is talking to my polar cub, I see comments from a wolf! I have to report the market news now Raoooaar!

Stocks will enter the final week of the first quarter with investors hoping to build on nascent gains scored after the near-collapse and subsequent bailout of investment firm Bear Stearns.

Supportive actions by the Federal Reserve, a stronger dollar, and a plunge in commodities prices all seemed to mark a key turn in the credit crisis gripping markets.
“The Bear Stearns story was kind of like the turn-around everybody was waiting for,” said Paul Nolte, director of investments at Hinsdale Associates. “In any crisis, things keep getting from bad to worse until something breaks. In this crisis, something did break and that was Bear Stearns.”

After a week rocked by even wilder swings than those witnessed since the start of the year, stocks recovered to post their first weekly gains in four weeks, even if the week was shortened by the Good Friday holiday.

Can You change the Mac Start Up Sound?

March 21, 2008
The Mac startup sound wasn’t a $$$ marketing exercise. It was a hack that was quietly dropped into the machine by an engineer with a home studio… can you change the sound? As far as I know… no. here’s more.>> This [mp3] famous Mac startup sound (still installed in every new Mac) was recorded Jim Reekes, and first used on the Quadra 700, which launched in 1991 costing $7,000. >> Jim’s most famous pop-culture moment was the scene in Jurassic Park where the park’s computers are all rebooted with his sound. But it’s most awesome musical use is as the bassline in Transformer di Roboter’s ace cover of ‘Stranger in Moscow’ - here [mp3]
